Contractual Obligations

I’ve noticed – ahem, I have noticed – that I am using a lot of contractions here while posting.  Never used to.  Used to write the way Lt. Commander Data spoke, in long-hand.  Unless they were in quoted text, I did not use contractions.

Why?  I guess because my eleventh grade English teacher, the late Mrs. Easer, and the New York State Board of Regents wanted me to write that way.  Years of writing emails and, ick, texting have caused my writing skills to deteriorate.

Or not.  Maybe it is not so important anymore.  We’ll just see how it goes.

There is an easy solution to that problem. Refuse to text. I have sent 2 text message in my life. They both said the same thing in response to a freind of Hattie’s that tries to text me. “I do not text.”

My house in Colorado was in a cell phone null spot. My house here is in one as well. The mighty gods of coincidence might be trying to tell me something. If i wasn’t meant to text at home, I probably should not do it anywhere.
